Although GMFA's work began as a HIV and AIDS education and intervention charity, the changing issues that the LGBTQ+ community faced meant that the organisation evolved and grew to fit the needs and diversity of the community.  In 2001, GMFA merged with the Black gay men’s group Big Up and, in 2002, GMFA broadened our remit to include all health issues which disproportionately affect the intersectional identities of gay men.
