Title: GMFA's Guide To Gay Sports Clubs And Social Groups

Shout

There are two ‘shOUT!’ youth groups offering health education, HIV prevention and coming out support. The groups are not totally exclusive. If you have a friend who is not lesbian, gay or bisexual and wants to accompany you, they are most welcome, provided they respect everyone else’s right to express their own sexuality.

Youth groups are great places to make your first gay friends. When run properly they are also a very safe space in which to start learning what kind of gay man or woman you want to be. However, please note, the rules and laws governing who can and cannot run a youth group are not perfect. New methods to help you confirm the integrity of people who run youth groups are being introduced over the next couple of years, but for the time being, even if you ask for references, you need to rely on your own judgement to determine whether or not the people running the youth group that you attend are responsible and trustworthy.
