Ealing Gay Group

Friends Together

GEMS (Gay Essex Men’s Social & Support Group)

Lambeth LGBT Forum

Logo of the Lambeth LGBT Forum The Lambeth LGBT Forum aims to make Lambeth a safer and more enjoyable place for LGBT people. The forum meets regularly to discuss concerns about a range of issues. It is action orientated and strives to act on the issues raised which may include: writing a submission, taking part in a community event or lobbying statutory services in the borough. The forum meets monthly at the Brixton Town Hall. The first part of the meeting is an hour long discussion on an issue that has been identified by the forum and guests often attend. Marylebone & Paddington Gay Area Society

This is one of the oldest gay groups in London, and has been meeting for over 30 years. It currently has about 20 members who meet for a social in someone's flat or house. There is a collection at each meeting, and at the AGM the society gives money to causes such as Switchboard or Stonewall. The society's connection with Marylebone and Paddington is historic, and all are welcome to join regardless of where they live.

North West London Lesbian & Gay Group

xx The North West London Lesbian & Gay Group was established in 1971, and welcomes all members of the LGBT community. The group's guiding principle is the creation of a friendly environment in which any member of the LGBT community can meet and socialise.

As one of the city's longest-running social groups for the LGBT community, the NWLLGG has been organising a weekly programme of social activities, for old friends and new, for more than 35 years. These activities include quizzes, games nights, bingo, barbecues and prize draws. There are also events with guest speakers addressing issues that have an impact on the LGBT community.

Octopus (East London)

Octopus is a local gay social group, based around the East side of London and the Essex borders. The group has been in existence for over 20 years and one of its main purposes is to offer friendship, and regular social activities for gay people in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Regular social activities include weekly social events, occasional parties, theme nights and barbecues, which are always held in the homes of members. The group also organises occasional days out. The social events provide an opportunity for gay people to meet, make friends with others, obtain mutual help and exchange information and experiences.

Octopus does not try to compete with the commercial scene, but aims to complement it. The group meets weekly in a very friendly atmosphere, and nearly always in the homes of its members; the host provides light refreshments and tea, coffee or soft drinks. It also publishes a bi-monthly newsletter and a diary sheet that lists our social events. The group is supported by a regular membership. If you just want to attend and see if the group is for you, you will be assured of a warm welcome.

SLAGO SLAGO is an umbrella group covering a number of social and support groups for gay men and lesbians in various parts of London and the Home Counties. South London Gays

South London Gays South London Gays (SLG) is a friendly social group for gays in the South London area. Set up shortly before the year 2000 from the remnants of the Wimbledon Area Gay Society (WAGS), SLG provides a wide range of events and activities for its members.

SLG's main focus is on the monthly meetings with guest speakers. These take place on the second Tuesday of each month at the Bread & Roses pub in Clapham, South London.
