Croydon Queer Choir

Croydon Queer Choir is a relatively new group welcoming beginners as well as more experienced singers, with the ultimate goal of setting up a new South London choir for gay men and lesbians. Call for more information about drop-in singing workshops and occasional informal sharing/performing sessions in the Croydon Area.

Diversity

Singers Diversity is a friendly Chamber Choir, which sings a wide range of material ranging from mostly classical to some show tunes. There are about 30 singers in the choir, which has been running for more than 10 years, with a complete mix of ages and genders. Ability to read music is helpful but not essential.

Inspiritus

A mixed (LGBT and straight) but very LGBT-friendly choir. This choir is for you if you love music and can sing in tune but have never sung in a choir before. Full Choir meets near King's Cross, with sub-groups in members' homes. Help given in reading music etc. Free 1-2-1 'find your voice' session for anyone interested. There are links with a more advanced choir if you can read music.

The London Gay Men's Chorus

Singers The London Gay Men’s Chorus was founded in 1991 by a group of six men who met in a basement in North London. It now has about 200 members, and the desire to entertain, educate and have a good time is as strong as ever.

The choir has made many TV and radio appearances and sung everywhere from a Tube station to The Albert Hall. Over time the Chorus has raised thousands of pounds for charity and has released several CDs. The choir rehearses in Camden Town on Monday nights. Everybody is welcome regardless of their musical abilities (intake is normally in January and September). The very varied repertoire includes classical, jazz, show tunes, pop songs, and folk music.

Pink Singers

Singers The Pink Singers is a choir open to everyone. The group sings in harmony, in varying numbers of parts, and concerts often include solos and small ensembles as well as full-choir numbers. Conductors and accompanists/instrumentalists come from within the group, and members are always encouraged to develop their musical skills.

The choir has a varied repertoire, including songs from musicals, pop songs, light classics and lesbian/gay anthems. Established in May 1983, the choir welcomes singers of all ages and genders. There are currently around 60 members. Auditions are not required for membership.

Orchestras


London Gay Symphony Orchestra

A musician The LGSO was born in May 1996 with the aim of building a musical home for the large number of gay and lesbian musicians who want to combine their musical and social lives. With around 80 members, the LGSO is a very friendly group, whose musical experience varies considerably.

The orchestra does not operate an audition policy and interested members are invited to contact the orchestra. Non-playing members are greatly appreciated - they get involved with the stage management of concerts, selling tickets, and general stewarding, for example.
