Gusto

Gusto is a dining club for gay men, organised almost entirely online. It meets on the first Wednesday of every month for a meal in London. The meal is usually a three-course affair, with wine and coffee, with the bill split evenly between those dining. The cost of each meal is estimated in advance and displayed on the website. If you’d like to come along, visit the website for more details.

Out & Out

Started 14 years ago by Mark Glanville, Out & Out is a place for men to meet without any pressure. Its 600-strong members are proof that you don’t have to be socially inept to approach a dining club as a way of meeting a partner or widening your social circle. Most of the members are educated professionals ranging from the late twenties to the early forties.

The agency organises around five events a month including dinner parties, wine tastings, cookery courses, theatre and opera trips. It also holds an annual summer ball on the Thames. The emphasis is very much on taking your time to get to know people rather than rushing to get paired off and a lot of lifelong friendships are formed. In fact the agency offers a discount to couples looking to make new friends. In addition Out & Out is now offering free online forums, dating and chat.

Suit & Tie Society

This is a society for men with an interest in maintaining standards of smart/formal dress and in smart clothes generally, and who enjoy socialising and dining. The society was founded in 1992 and now boasts more than 200 members.

It is a very friendly group and newcomers are always made welcome. If new to the gay world or unfamiliar with the required dress code, the club organisers are happy to give advice and/or to arrange to meet you individually before a social event.

Events take place twice a month in London, and other events take place around the UK or overseas. The club also produces a quarterly newsletter. For membership details and future events, contact Robin at the address below. A suit and tie is preferable at the social functions, though a jacket and tie is acceptable.
