Drugs and alcohol advice and support

Antidote LGBT

Antidote is London's only targeted LGBT drug and alcohol service. Based in Soho in partnership with London Friend and Turning Point UK, Antidote serves the substance use needs of London's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities, pan-London. Antidote does not require abstinence from their clients (though many choose abstinence as a goal, and Antidote works with those clients toward that objective). They offer a range of therapies: telephone/online advice and support, structured one-to-one therapies, group work, drop-in services, alternative and holistic therapies, referrals to detox, rehab and other community and health services. There are a number of places you can drop in without an appointment to have a discreet and casual chat, or to arrange an assessment or referral for key-work, counselling, detox or sexual health check.

Thursday Night Drop-in
Every Thursday night in Soho; no appointment needed, just come by for a chat with an Antidote worker, or enjoy the (sober) social space with other LGBT people looking for peer support or a change from bars and clubs. Free auricular acupuncture available to help with cravings, to improve sleep and to manage feelings of anxiety. All free and confidential.
