If you are experiencing any of the above, your drug taking could be having an overwhelming and damaging impact on your life and we may be able to help. Terrence Higgins Trust runs a free weekly group programme for gay men who feel that they have lost control of their relationship with the drugs that they are taking. Subject covered:
  1. Looking at our behaviour: addiction/acting out etc.
  2. Triggers and cravings
  3. Consequences of our behaviours
  4. Self-talk
  5. Action planning
  6. The cycle of addiction
  7. Lapse and relapse prevention
  8. Motivation to change - the cycle of change

There will be a chance to talk about our feelings and discuss how to create meaningful relationships in our lives (with ourselves, friends, in a work place, with a sexual partner). The course is suitable for men who have spent some time coming to terms with their HIV diagnosis (whether recently diagnosed or not), and would like to experience support in a group with others. We will use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Art Therapy to improve our confidence to deal with different aspects of our lives, and to promote more positive thinking.

If you see yourself as a sex addict or a sexual compulsive and feel that your sexual behaviours are having an overwhelming and negative impact on your life, then we may be able to help. Terrence Higgins Trust is running 8 week group programmes for gay men who feel that their relationship with sex is somehow out of control. Subject covered:

1 day workshop giving people a safe space to explore issues around disclosure- including discussion of myths and fears. Space will be given to share individual experiences, feelings, and concerns. A good opportunity to practice skills around disclosure and to increase confidence.

HIV / HEP C co-infection group
Begins Saturday 11th Feb, Saturday 18th Feb and Saturday 25th Feb from 10:00am to 3:00pm

When you are diagnosed with Hepatitis C and already have HIV, you could have lots of questions.
  1. What are my treatment options?
  2. What about sex and disclosure?
  3. How will I cope emotionally?
If you're looking for support with your dual diagnosis and a safe space to discuss it with other men, we can help. Terrence Higgins Trust runs a FREE weekly programme for gay men who have been diagnosed with both HIV and Hepatitis C. The programme will run next time in central London over 6 weeks from 6.30pm to 9pm.
Positively Growing Older
Begins Tuesday 31 January- 6 March 2012 from 6:30 to 9:00
Continues The free group runs for 6 weeks.

This course is for HIV+ gay men who have had their diagnosis for over 10 years or over the age of 45 and living with HIV. We will look at physical and emotional changes we might experience around aging and HIV. We will be looking at areas such as sex, relationships, friendships and building support networks and creating action plans for a meaningful future.
Life Coaching Workshop
1 day Saturday 21 January 2012 from 10:00am to 3:00pm

1 day workshop providing an introduction to life coaching within a cognitive behavioural model. Provides a space for participants to give and receive ideas about options for the future.
Newly diagnosed gay men's group (FREE TO ATTEND)
Begins Thursday 2nd February 2012 at 6:30 pm
Continues The free group will be over 6 weekly evening sessions, 6:30-9pm.

Have you recently diagnosed HIV positive? THT provides a safe, friendly environment where you can meet other men and be supported in coming to terms with your diagnosis. Programme:

  5. Week 5: Coping with emotional issues

Negative partners support group (FREE TO ATTEND)
Begins March 2012 from 6.30pm to 9.00pm
Continues The free group runs for 6 weeks. Call to register interest.

A 6 week programme that supports HIV negative people whose partner or someone close to them is living with HIV. Programme:
  1. Week 1: Living with your partner's diagnosis
  2. Week 2: Disclosure: "Telling other people"
  3. Week 3: Medical aspects

  5. Week 5: Coping with emotional issues
  6. Week 6: Looking to the future
